With the generous support of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, the CNGF completed an extensive industry promotion project, which took place from March 2006 to March 2007 through the Other Ruminant Marketing Development.
Below is a list and brief description of the activities that were completed throughout the year. 1. Brochure “Goats as a Business or Hobby !”2. Brochure “Discover, Experience, Enjoy !"Goat Milk Dairy Products, Chevon (Goat Meat) and Fibre Products 3. CNGF Directory A bilingual contact information list of the 14 provincial and national organizations across Canada affiliated with the Canadian National Goat Federation.4. Recipe CardsEnjoy preparing dishes with Chevon or Goats Milk Dairy Products.
5. Project CardsPractical “project cards” for creating a wonderful wear product with Fibre.
6. Industry Advancement through MediaSeveral display advertisements, Word Classifieds and Articles were printed for the promotion of the goat industry in the publications listed below :
7. Canadian National Goat Federation WebsiteThe CNGF website was constructed to improve industry information and resource information. 8. Cintech Project9. Trade Show DevelopmentA bilingual free standing display consisting of 4 units with individual messages were created to be displayed across Canada to promote the Canadian Goat Industry and Canadian Goat Products. The CNGF promotion chair, Denise Chapleau and Promotion Coordinator, Guenette Bautz attended the North American Food Marketplace show SIAL MONTREAL at the end of March 2007. The tradeshow proved to very beneficial for the goat industry. Representatives from several countries expressed a great interest in Canadian goat products and several government officials visited the CNGF booth to discuss a variety of topics concerning the goat industry.
